Community Center

- Mexico - Mexico

The project is designed to house a community center, bathrooms, and a small open air forum for the Laguna del Toro community in Xochimilco, Mexico. The design is based on a series of wooden frames made of 2’ wide boards. The frames are placed in such a way that the space between them alternately serves as entry points to the community center and storage modules. This allows for the open space to be divided in up to 3 different rooms, each with an independent entrance. The main objective is to foster the participation of the members of the community through the flexibility of uses that the center provides. The building can be completely closed or completely permeable, depending on the activities it will house.
