Aesop applies a singular sales philosophy. Specializing in body care products, it develops a variety of sophisticated space concepts combining simplicity and refinement, with the collaboration of each city’s architects.

For Aesop Westmount, we looked at the identity role of water in the history of Montreal’s development. Changeable to the rhythm of the seasons, it has a contemplative quality that translates into an abstract composition in bright and shadowy planes. A metaphor evoking the chromatic polarity of snow and the “black water” of the St. Lawrence during the winter.

The space was designed in concert with the artist Pascal Grandmaison, whose video installation duplicates a slow aquatic movement and dialogues with the setting’s meditative ambience.
